Increase Sales

Creating Opportunities To Increase Internet Sales

Several methods can be used for your online business to increase internet sales. Some are proven more effective than others. A great way to boost online sales is to increase traffic on your site. When more people visit your site, you increase your chances of generating sales.

The common mistake that many businesses make is they believe their work ends on getting people to visit the website. Successful internet selling turns visits into sales.

Turning Traffic to Profit

More than just listing the features of your product and the benefits of purchasing it, you must have something to offer your prospects. Offer something 'free' to your customers. When your buyer can get something free, they think of it as a bonus. For instance, if you're selling them a PC, you can offer them free PC scans. The same goes with websites; you can offer your visitors a free newsletter so they can get information about your products or services.

Sales text is important as another way to convince your customer to purchase a product. Most websites fail to give enough attention to this. How can you expect to make a sale when the potential buyer does not have enough information about the product or service? This text should be brief, concise, and informative. The text must answer possible questions a customer might have on a product.

Create an Expert Image

If people find you credible, they will more easily trust you. Your knowledge about the information contained in your site will lead to more traffic if people find your site useful. You can get more readers to your site by publishing articles over the internet, such as in a blog post or an article directory and including a byline. This will provide a background on you (as the author) and provides links to your site that readers can visit to get more information.

Keep Communication Lines Open

If you want to make more sales, you must include as much contact information on your site as possible. Do not just focus on the sales pages, instead include your phone number and contact form to all pages of your website. This will enable potential customers to easily contact you when they see a product or service they'd like to obtain.

By providing as much contact information as possible, people will have confidence in your site. If you sell products online, provide as much means for payment as possible. Provide the most convenient way for your customer to process payments.

Utilize Positive Feedback/Testimonials

If you can, get previous customers to leave feedback about products sold on your website. Post their testimonials on your site for future readers to see. Positive testimonials will help boost online sales because they help to increase trust on your buyer's part.

If you want to give them further assurance, you can offer a money-back guarantee. Giving a guarantee can benefit you in two ways. It gives your buyer the security of returning the product in case they do not find it useful; thus it becomes easier to part with their money and make a purchase. As for the seller, it reflects your confidence in your product that you'd be willing to return the money to a dissatisfied customer.

These are just a few effective sales tips and tricks that you can use to increase internet sales.

Practice Makes Perfect

As mentioned in my previous post, it is important to be consistent.  To improve your skills it is essential to practice on a daily basis.  It takes time to become good at selling products especially door to door.  In order to enhance your sales productivity one must be able to acquire skills as a salesperson.  The necessary skills required to be a successful salesperson include the following.

First, you should be able to present yourself in a professional manner.  To do this you should know how to dress as a successful person.  Remember that first impression means a lot when you are in sales.  It is the initial contact you have with your customer and your appearance could make a big difference when you are trying to develop a rapport to your potential buyer.

It is essential to know what suits you best.  Remember that you are representing the company.  Dressing as a professional is needed.  Having a good selection of wardrobe is necessary.  The nice suits, neckties and shoes are necessary accessories.  Being able to matching your shoes and dress requires considerable trial and error before perfecting your skills.  Experience will be the best teacher.  Doing it as part of your daily routine helps you develop an eye for color schemes and combinations.

The second thing that you must remember is the best way to approach your prospect.  Selling products in a door to door basis requires you to create innovative ways  to effectively approach clients.  Good opening lines and facilitating skills are necessary.  The thing to take note when having a conversation is what is of interest to your client.  This will increase the probability of increased sales because he will provide you the opening you needed to deliver your message.

Making the conversation interesting will make the mood lighter.  This will make it easier for you to communicate (listen and learn) because the customer is letting his guard down.  Injecting jokes or humor in your conversation eases the tension not only for you but for you client as well.  This applies to clients you speak to online, or in your marketing messages you send out.  You need to know what it is your client is looking for before you can tell them about the benefits it will bring them.

The last but certainly not the least thing to remember is to close
.  Closing a deal is crucial when you are selling door to door.   You may not have a second chance.  It is different online where a customer may read the material 5 or 6 times before making a decision to buy.

However, if it is not possible to close right away, make an appointment right away.  You could set an appointment within a few days.  Do not let it pass a week without making any follow up.  The chances of sales will decrease if you set appointments more than one week.  The client will either forget about the appointment or lose interest.  That is why it is important to send out follow up emails as well.

To be the best salesperson you must make sure that you practice your selling skills consistently.  Talk to people and move around.  Action produces results.

Do not be afraid to make mistakes because you will learn from it.  When you stumble, stand up and move forward.  It is not how many times you fell but rather on how many times you stood up.  Your skills will improve through time and when they do, expect that there will be increase sales.

Getting People To Buy From Your Site

Getting People To Buy From Your Site Researched & Written by Karen Barnes

Q: How can I get people to buy from my Affiliate Website?
A: The answer to this question has been debated by the top marketers to the newest of marketers on what does and does not work. The pros and cons of marketing products to buyers range from the use of free-for-all sites to traffic exchanges to free advertising to pay-per-clicks and the list goes on. What every marketer needs to do is to decide which of the products they want to try to sell. You then will need to learn everything about the product you are trying to sell, purchase and try it for yourself, and then write your own sales copy for this product from your own personal experience.

You will need to know how the product works, what the advantages and disadvantages are, the price, and how your customer can contact support or yourself with any questions or concerns they have about your product. They basically want to know everything that you wanted to know about the product when you purchased it for the first time. Then you will need to do some research on the clientele that will be most attracted to your product. After all you wouldn’t want to sell car mechanic tools to a chef. Trying to sell mechanics tools to a chef would produce some very bad results: a waste of your marketing time and money from marketing to a group of people to whom this particular product would have no interest.

Each product has a specific group of people who will want to purchase the product. Here are some tips for improving both first-time and repeat sales
: • Target your market is one of the top things you should do when advertising products for sale.
 • Have specific details about your product in your ad or on your own Website.
 • Use various marketing sites both online and offline for massive action.
 • Follow up with prospects when they email you with questions.
 • Follow up with your customer after the sale; this is a guaranteed way to have repeat sales and to improve customer relations with referrals from your customers.
 • Keep up-to-date with current trends on products and marketing to keep your sales recurring.
 • Remember if you are selling seasonal items, make sure that you are selling in the correct season to gain the most from your promotions. If you have any stock left over at the end of any season, create clearance prices to move your remaining stock for new products for the next season.
 • Last but not least, test your headlines, sales copy and keep track of where you are advertising. This way you will know which ads and places that you are advertising are producing the desired results. This allows you to spend your marketing dollars more effectively and eliminate expenditures where they do little good.

Q: What is customer service?
A: Customer service is when you give your current and potential customers the best possible service. It includes both the way you interact personally with your customers as well as the way you solve their problems.

Q: Why is it so important?
A: Customer service should always be your top priority. The quality of your customer service can make or break your business. Great customer service will bring you repeat customers and new customers. Bad customer service can make you lose your customers and potential customers.

Q: How can I improve on this myself?
A: You can improve your customer service by really listening to what your customer wants and needs. Being responsive to their wants and needs is what keeps you in business.

Q: How can I go the extra mile for my customers?
A: As I just mentioned, you can start by listening to their wants and needs. Once you have found these two ingredients out, give them what they want and need.

Q: What are the key objectives to customer service?
A: There are four basic keys to great customer service:
 1. Remember that your customers are GREAT. Treat your customers like they are royalty-this will go a long way towards making them feel special.
 2. Give them the products or service (if your business is a service business such as internet service or web hosting service) plus a little. Give them something a little more. Provide polite and prompt answers to their questions and concerns. If you don't carry what they are looking for, let them know who does. You might lose that sale, but you could gain a customer and friend for a long time.
 3. Make sure your prices are good. Be in line with or below your competitors. Competitive prices show your customers you value their business.
 4. Provide a top notch shopping experience. A great shopping experience makes them want to return.

Even if you are a service or online business, make sure that you give them your absolute attention when they come to you with questions and concerns and offer correct and prompt replies. This type of customer service will then lead your current customers into recommending your service and product to their friends. Word-of-mouth advertising can be the greatest asset provided by your loyal customers. In short, with customer service, "Just Give 'Em The Pickle." Don't charge for something that you normally don't charge for, don't forget the daily little things that you offer your customers, and, above all, smile-even if you're on the telephone. They can "hear" your smile. Treat your customers as though they were your friends and you will be rewarded with their continued business.

How To Make Money As An Affiliate

Have you wondered how to make money as an affiliate?  The following article may help you understand

The Affiliate Model – How To Make Money As An Affiliate
Rob Rawson

Affiliate programs are a very easy and effective way to make money on the Internet right? so how do they work?

Essentially, affiliate programs are a way that you can promote other people’s products and get paid a commission for promoting them. You can get paid to promote almost any type of product and service on the web.

Most of the top companies on the web have Affiliate Programs. Dell computers, Amazon, Expedia, AT&T, Chase bank, Delta airlines and Walmart are just a few examples - did you know that you can be paid a commission to sell products online for any one of these companies?

The best thing about affiliate programs is that it is so easy to set up a relationship with any one of these companies. Normally in business you would have to spend weeks or months of meetings, proving that you are a worthwhile partner to be able to do business with these sorts of companies. However, an affiliate program allows you to get commissions straight away as a little guy, without all the hassle of meetings and forming that relationship.

There are thousands of affiliate programs that you can promote on the web. You have so many choices that you could pursue. The key factors for success with affiliate programs are the following:
Choosing the right affiliate programs. If you choose certain affiliate programs you will likely only be able to earn a small income because their payouts are small. Other affiliate programs have very large payouts and high earning per click (EPC). If you don’t know what earning per click (EPC) is, it is the average amount that affiliates earn from each click to the site that they are sending money to. Some networks express it in earnings per one hundred clicks.

For example you could say an EPC of $57. This means you make $57 on average for every 100 visitors that you send to a site or 57 cents for sending one visitor to the site. Generally I am looking for affiliate programs with an EPC of $20 or more, which means I am making 20 cents per visitor. Usually, I focus on programs that have an EPC of $100 or $1 per visitor. When you are earning $1 per visitor you have potential for a lot more profit.

The second critical factor is getting the traffic to the affiliate program. We are going to talk about this more in other issues of the Ecourse.

The third factor is being able to pre-sell to the visitors of your site. Let’s say that you have a website where you discuss different products and services, a comparison type of site. You can recommend the product that you think is most beneficial and then when people click through to the site after your recommendation, they are much more likely to buy.

How do you find good affiliate programs?

One easy way is to go to all of the affiliate networks and sign up for affiliate programs there. The major affiliate networks like Commission Junction have thousands of affiliate programs that you can join in all sorts of categories. You can find a listing of the different affiliate networks at: http://www.profitpuppy.com/affiliate-networks.htm

It also depends on what type of strategy you are pursuing with affiliate programs. There are many different strategies and we can’t go into all of them now, we’ll talk about them in detail in some later issues of the ecourse. However here are a few strategies to get your brain ticking over with ideas:
You can promote affiliate programs directly using Google Adwords. You simply promote the program by creating your own ads. This is the quickest way to make money on the Internet as you can get started and in 1-2 hours have some ads up that are making you money. However, it is getting more and more difficult to make money with this strategy as there are too many people doing it. As with anything in life, if something is too easy to make money, everyone will start doing it and it then becomes more difficult because there is more competition.

One strategy is to focus on a particular niche area … let’s say you decide to do a site on car rentals. You could then join all the affiliate programs to do with car rentals. You can find many of them through the major networks, but you might also need to search on Google for something like – ‘car rental affiliate program’.

Another strategy is to build lots of little mini sites on the Internet focusing on different keyword phrases that people are searching for and get free search engine listings in Google and other search engines. This is a great strategy because the traffic that you get is free. This is general called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is great and can make you a lot of money but it is also very tricky. It is not easy to get to the top of the search engines. It requires a lot of knowledge, and quite a bit of effort. Don’t think that you can just read a book and do it … normally it is going to take months of dedication to get there.

That’s a few ideas, but whatever area you are involved in on the Internet you should definitely be promoting affiliate programs. Even if you sell your own product online you should still look into affiliate programs as a back end profit centre for your business.

Affiliate programs are one of the quickest ways to make money on the Internet. Over the next few issues of the Ecourse we are going to talk about other strategies of using affiliate programs.
If you want a free email course on affiliate programs you can send a blank email to: tamsaffiliatemarketing@sitesell.net This email course is written by Ken Evoy and it is this course that actually got me started in marketing on the Internet. http://www.profitpuppy.com
